Weekly Tracker: COVID-19 impact on TV viewing figures

We look at the viewing trends week-on-week to track how viewing impacts are continuing change and evolve. This analysis includes commercial and non-commercial (BBC) stations and is based on overnight immediate data rather than consolidated data, which is released nine days after airtime. The charts below examine the average weekly TV ratings, separated by the hour.

  • Current week of analysis: Tuesday 19th May – Monday 25th May
  • Previous week for comparison: Tuesday 12th April – Monday 18th April
  • Control week: Monday 24th February – Sunday 1st March

Our data shows that viewing is continuing a downward trend WoW, across all adults. We have seen marginal decreases across all demographics, with a marginally larger decrease in 16-34 viewing.
