Weekly Tracker: COVID-19 impact on TV viewing figures

We look at the viewing trends week-on-week to track how viewing impacts are continuing change and evolve. This analysis includes commercial and non-commercial (BBC) stations and is based on overnight immediate data rather than consolidated data, which is released nine days after airtime. The charts below examine the average weekly TV ratings, separated by the hour.

  • Current week of analysis: Tuesday 16th June– Monday 22nd June
  • Previous week for comparison: Tuesday 9th June – Monday 15th June
  • Control week: Monday 24th February – Sunday 1st March

Our data shows that the return of The Premier League has unsurprisingly shown a massive shift in sports viewing. The rest of this week’s viewing, however, continues a downward trend.
